CYU has a versatile education framework which includes undergraduate and graduate education, Chinese language education for foreign students, continuing education, and youth leader training programs. Currently the school offer 13 undergraduate and 15 graduate programs which fall into 5 academic categories, including Philosophy, Law, Management, Economics, and Literature. The university comprises 13 academic departments and centers, such as Chinese Marxism College, Youth Work Department, Social Work School, Department of Economics, Department of Law, Department of Journalism, Department of Public Administration, Department of Chinese Language and Literature, and Department of Foreign Languages.

Accommodations
CYU provides satisfactory housing to international students at quite reasonable price. There is an International Students Apartment Building on campus. Each apartment has an independent bathroom (with 24-hour hot water) and a bedroom. Internet connection is available in every room and air conditioner, TV, telephone, wardrobe, desk and chairs are also prepared. On each floor, there is a public kitchen and laundry. Reception service is available 24 hours a day on the first floor.
Price for a standard double room is 50 Yuan per person per day and price for a single room is 85 Yuan per day.
